About Kelly
Kelly Young Chang is a graduate of Emerson College with a double degree in Acting and Writing. Kelly is a member of the Women of Words workshop group and is currently hard at work on her first novel. She volunteers as a writing mentor with PEN America's Prison & Justice Writing program and as a writing workshop facilitator with her local youth shelter. In her writing, Kelly is drawn to stories about isolated and morally gray characters, the juxtaposition of humor and sadness, redemptive arcs amidst darkness, and characters who grapple with issues of faith and doubt. Kelly grew up just outside Poughkeepsie, New York, and she now lives on the Upper West Side with her husband.
